About Q Gardens & Design

Q Designs is a family business, headed up by owner/principal designer – and winner of the Anthony Tesselaar International Garden Award, Quentin Kirley.

quentin-kirley

With over ten years experience in horticulture (in both Australia and the United Kingdom), Quentin is an industry expert specialising in commercial, residential and community garden design. With a Diploma in Horticulture and landscape design, Quentin specialises in designing and creating landscapes that are both functional and aesthetic.

Quentin is also adept at working with various community and not-for-profit organisations, developing imaginative and functional spaces. He believes that each space and project is different, with each one having its own personality inspired by its location, and the unique function required.

Sustainability, maintenance, environmental issues and budgets are also of key importance to Quentin when embarking on new projects.   “To me, not only do projects have to meet all the practical requirements, but the personality of each client must also be reflected in the overall design, which is something we work hard to achieve”.

Quentin also dedicates time teaching garden design to students. Click here to find out about his Certificate II in Horticulture programs.

Quentin has had the privilege of managing and completing projects which include: Managing the garden at Kilravock Castle in Scotland (one of Scotlands’ oldest heritage gardens)

Co-ordinating the installation of a Children’s Open Farm Gardens project in Hertfordshire, England.

Project managed the Biblical garden of Essendon Baptist Community Church, which gives people in the community a place of prayer and serenity.

Developing and implementing the ‘Design it, build it, grow it’ program – Certificate II in Horticulture – for VCAL students at St Bernard’s College in Essendon.

Small, medium and large garden renovations from initial briefings with clients to project end.
